The primary is only a week away and with the chaos we have seen in Washington DC this last year; I ponder what impact that will have on voter turnout. This last year as we have struggled to exit the deepest recession since “The Great Depression”, we have seen a government focused on backroom deals and not the needs of the people. Only 62% of those registered, voted in the 2008 Presidential election. Given this is only a mid-term election; voter turnout is generally expected to be lower. These elected officials are determining the direction of our country, our economy and our freedoms. History has shown that battles have been fought for our right to vote. To vote is to give one voice that collectively determines and shapes our future. We can choose to be part of the problem or part of the solution. If you enjoy your freedoms and want to be part of the solution, you need to get out there and vote on May 4th.

To Vote or Not to Vote
Monday, April 26th, 2010How did April 15th become tax day?
Thursday, April 15th, 2010
We may forget birthdays and anniversaries; but I doubt anyone forgets that April 15th is the day of reckoning for personal income taxes in the United States. Given that today is April 15th, we should take a closer look at the origin. The implementation of the personal income tax was the direct result of Congress passing the sixteenth Amendment on February 3rd, 1913 with the deadline for filing being chosen as March 1st of the following year. The deadline was changed to March 15th in 1918, for unknown reasons. The last time the deadline was moved, it became April 15th in 1955. For the last 55-years April 15th has been the deadline for personal income taxes.
Backroom Deals at an all time high
Friday, January 15th, 2010Just when I think this healthcare reform cannot get any crazier; there is yet another backroom deal that proves me wrong. Last night, Union and Federal Employees receive a deal to delay them having to pay any “Cadillac Tax” on their healthcare benefits until 2018; five years after the rest of us non-union employees start paying. Today this last major hurdle in Healthcare Reform just left a $60 million dollar hole in how we are going to pay for this plan and our elected officials are determining how to make up the difference. As this inches closer to becoming a reality, one can only hope this madness will stop.

Have You Had Enough??
Thursday, July 23rd, 2009Have you people had enough of this Barry O guy and his czars followed by our employees (Congress & Senate)? You all say you are tired of this but what are you doing about it. If you really feel that way and you do not want to loose your freedom, YES, I said loose your freedom, then start doing something about it. Start emailing and calling your State and Federal elected officials and tell them to wake the hell up! Stop trying to pass new laws and policies and increase taxes. Why don’t you (the policy maker) watch your frivolous spending and tighten up. Duhhhh, whats that, common sense???? Next! Mr. Congressman, Mr. Senator please stop wasting money and start telling the truth and represent the people that got you elected. You are squeezing our freedom right out of this country. This is not a white, black issue or a republican democrat thing either. This is about you and your fellow elected officials doing what is right for WE THE PEOPLE! This country was defined and once ruled by WE THE PEOPLE and we want it back! If you are unable or to lazy to google who to call then I can help lol http://www.usa.gov/Contact/Elected.shtml
Climate Change Bill, HA!
Tuesday, June 30th, 2009OK this bill did pass the house with a 219 – 212 with a vote of no from our Congressman Joe Donnelly. Thank you Congressman for using your common sense on this. Everyone has heard of the arguments for and against this “Cap and Trade” bill or as I refer to it as the most un-American bill I ever seen. Like all of Congress I have not read it either but it does not take a PHD to use common sense to see that this is more Government regulation, control and structure but a massive tax hike to everyone, including the middle class. This bill is so complex with a hidden agenda it will take months to figure out how the government is going to screw you next. You people who supported this bill and continue to do so make me sick. Dick Morris said it best, that this bill’s main intention is to make electric so expensive that no one can afford it. Oh wait, even better yet this is a jobs creation bill. Every bill that Congress passes seems to be a jobs creation bill according to our commander and chief President Obama. This bill if followed thru by the Senate and signed by you know who, will eliminate jobs in the USA and send even more jobs over seas. There are already many talks of companies to grow their over seas manufacturing with their current US production. With electric rates getting ready to go thru the roof no one will be able to afford any products. I could go on and on about how this bill will, if executed, will crumble the US and make everyone Government dependant!
Definition of Socialism. You decide
Sunday, March 22nd, 2009The term socialism has been being thrown around by the conservative side of politicians since before the election. The warning shots were aired thru the media channels that if Obama was elected President that his policies would lean towards socialism. For a minute forget that our elected officials approved the bonuses for companies who received tarp funds, read below and connect the dots. You decide!

The Government has lost it
Friday, March 20th, 2009After watching the news and the markets for the last several days and the mess that has been created by “We the People’s” employees, the house and the senate. I do not want to get into all the details and sit here and debate all little bits and pieces of who said what and who did what but focus on the big picture of our employees have no clue what they are voting on (Stimulus Bill) and being pushed by the administration to hurry and pass this bill because we will be worse off without it. We (Administration) know you cannot possibly read this bill but just sign it. Does anyone else not have a problem with our employees not reading a contract that deals with our money?
